Q: What is your treatment philosophy?
A: (Kathleen) When we have stuff going on in our lives, be it lifelong or recent we just want some answers, and we want to feel better. I use everything at my disposal to achieve that with you. I believe with the right person guiding you, what you can achieve is limitless. My goal is to be that person for you. Therapy should energize you, give you answers and perspective. It should help you be more resilient and cope better with life. This is what I do, and it is an honor to do it with you. Book your first appointment now to start your journey.
Q: Do you take my INSURANCE?
A: Shore Counseling accepts Carefirst, BCBS / UBH / Aetna / Cigna / Medical Assistance and Medicare. Check our clinicians page for more information
If you still want to work with us but we don't take your insurance:
A: Contact your insurance company to learn their policy for submitting super bills. Shore Counseling is a fee-based practice. We will provide a super bill which is an itemized form showing payment for sessions or services, that most insurance companies will reimburse directly to you. You would be responsible for full payment of the session. There is no guarantee your insurance company will reimburse payment for services. Make sure to check with your insurance company before beginning services with Shore Counseling if you wish to seek insurance reimbursement.
If you do Self Pay - Some of our clients will use a dedicated credit card to pay for sessions. They pay the card off when their insurance reimburses them. Other clients come less often to make it more affordable. *Text our main line if your insurance company requires any additional information from the practice. We are happy to help.
Q: I've never talked to a therapist before, I'm really anxious about it. Can you help me?
A: Of course you are nervous! Talking with a therapist takes some serious courage. Some part of you has decided it is time to live a better life; we can help you achieve that!. Take the first step and book an appointment with us, we've got you!
Q: I have a lot of trauma/bad stuff in my past. Can you really help me with this?
A: Absolutely! Each of us has parts of our life we didn't get a say in... We didn't get to pick our parents, we were in abusive relationships, we saw or experienced things that haunt us. Whatever you have experienced we will work with you to rebuild what was torn down. You have already shown yourself a survivor; you are here, reading this answer! We will just take you to the next level, give you tools to manage the past and teach you how to heal.
Q: Self Pay no Insurance: I really want to work with Shore Counseling but I'm not sure I can afford it. Can you help?
A: Yes! Shore Counseling has Mental Health Coaches during the school year that offer low-cost services, call or text us so we can see what is the best fit for you.
Q: What is the meaning of the letters after the clinician's names?
